Brazilian Dancing!!

Tonight I took the girls all the way to the top of Alta to go to a Brazilian dance class. Haley had an assignment for school that she needed to do an activity that she would not normally do. SO we found ourselves on top of the Mountain tonight learning how to shake it!! It was really fun to watch and the girls had a blast. Our adventures never end!!

Try to catch up??

If I were only clever like my children, I would have this whole blog thing going at a much better pace than it is. It is my Last Semester of Nursing School and I am trying to update my blog....I am wondering why I am taking time to do this. The truth of the matter is that I am so sick of studying all the time that I have to find other things to do some of the time or I might go crazy!! I love having Haley back at home, she is fun and really brings out the silly in all of us! Emily is constantly witty trying to keep up with Haley and Abby is so smooth she just rolls with it. Yep that is life with three teenage daughters. We are constantly laughing and really enjoying being together. Does life get better than this? Only when we are at the beach TOGETHER!

We have a blog?!

Hey! So, I just found out that we have a blog . . . two years later! News to me! I just miss out on these things. That's alright, I'm over it. I guess I could do a recap on the family, but Haley just did that. I think our family is doing pretty dang good! I wish we would be one of those families that break into song all the time . . . but yet I don't think those families exist. We play Glee! That's something!! :) Well, I'm leaving! Bye!

It's almost been a year

Hey it's Haley. It's almost been a year since anyone has done anything with this blog so I thought I would update it a bit as I write on my own blog as well. Well I'm living as a live in nanny in Redondo Beach California right now and watching four little kids, staying really busy. Mom is still in nursing school and the little bit of phone time I do get with her is of high value because she is incredibly busy! She works more then I thought it possible to work and somehow still manages to get homework done, study for tests, and get awesome scores! Just call her super mom. Abby is a junior in high school and had her first dance last month. I bought a dress for her here and mailed it home and she looked so great and had a good time. Dad had back surgery and is recovering and doing much better. Emily, well she's Emily. She keeps up entrained. She's in 9th grade this year, I swear I was just in 9th grade! And is little miss social. I'm coming home for thanksgiving and CAN NOT wait for some serious family time. Its crazy how you miss the little things from home, like creamy peanut butter and jelly instead of the crunchy that the family buys here, singing in the car and laughing at Emily dancing and singing at the top of her lungs and at 19 years old I still love to crawl in bed with my mom and give her a hug before I go to bed. I have the best family. In case you were wondering.

Today is the last day of the Christmas break. Are we ready for our real lives??? Early morning here we come! I really do love the break from the schedules however I also look forward to getting back on schedule. Our life here at the Benson house has been filled with late nights and sleeping until noon. I must say very unproductive. I am just a guilty as everyone else.....lazy...lazy...lazy. The house is back to normal, all the decorations are packed up and put away (hurray) we now have to face the beginning of a new school semester (ME) and finishing one up with the kids. So lets get ready for this ride. As usual I expect non-boring life ahead of us!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

:)

It's the most wonderful time of the year --- college football bowl games & nfl playoffs!

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

So I am going to give this blogging thing a try. I only wished we could have started this when the girls were little. Oh...well.... Life goes on. So we are just rapping up the Christmas season and finishing up the year 2009. I am looking forward to 2010...sort of. Haley is graduating from high school, and I really have mixed feeling about that. I want her to have all of life's great experiences, yet I don't want her to go away. I know it is pretty selfish of me, but I can not help it. I really love to be around her. I really love to be around all my girls! Abby has already starting planing how she is going to redecorate Haley's room as soon as she leaves, pretty funny. Tonight Emily told me that she was going to go to Juilliard in New York for her college experience, and be on broadway. She also said the since Abby is going to be in the Army she will have to miss her first performance on Broadway and so we will have to tape it. Emily is a crack up. I hope that she changes her mind and want ot stay in Utah by her mom!!!
I have applied for nursing school for the fifth time....Yes FIVE times. No one wants me with my B average. Well I am starting to become a bit frustrated and wondering if I have chosen the right path for myself. We will see what happens in the near future. Maybe I should just move to Australia!!!
We have gained a new big brother for the girls.....Kind of....Brian our cousin has moved her to Utah. We are so excited for him to live here. He is going to go to school (and hopfully find a job). We really love him and are excited for his new adventure here with this big old family!!!!
